I worked with Rebecca Simpson for a decade while she was publicist at Random House New Zealand, and then publicity manager at Penguin Random House New Zealand, and was always impressed by her professionalism, imagination and love of books. Every writer wants to feel that the person entrusted with publicising their novels cares about their work and Rebecca was always a huge supporter of my books, both for adults and young readers alike. During her tenure I visited New Zealand three times to attend literary festivals and she made the trips both productive and enjoyable. I’ll certainly miss working with her but have no doubt that she’ll bring the same level of enthusiasm to any writer who’s lucky enough to work with her in the future.

I worked with Rebecca when I was launching my book at Penguin Random House in 2016. Rebecca was an absolute pleasure to work with and did a terrific job managing all areas of publicity for my book. She was consistently cheerful, helpful and encouraging throughout our time together, making for a truly wonderful experience. Rebecca’s organisation skills were fantastic, resulting in smooth sailing for all publicity events. As I was teenager at the time, the process of writing a cookbook was quite daunting.
